Behind the Curtain: The Secrets of How Our Latest Project Came to Be + How It's Going Now

A Special Thanks

Well, well, well! Here we are on the other side of our beloved Project No. 101. And before anything else, let's get the thank-yous rolling! First off, a special thanks to God—because, let’s be honest, none of this would’ve happened without a little divine intervention. And, of course, a huge thanks to everyone involved, especially our amazing clients. This project is seriously one for the books!

How It Started

Okay, it's time for some real talk. This blog is about to get deep, so grab your favorite snack and settle in. But instead of diving into the doom and gloom, let’s kick things off with one of my all-time favorite moments. Project No. 101 started as this wild, out-of-nowhere idea. I was getting ready for a double date with my bestie, her then-crush, and my hubby. My best friend was also there, getting dolled up before our outing. Let me tell you, I was having a rough day. The last thing on my mind was getting a new client.

Then, out of nowhere, I heard my best friend yelling my name like she had just won the lottery. I rushed in, and she was grinning from ear to ear, telling me I got a DM from someone interested in working with me. Instant mood switch—I ran to my husband, squealing like the little girl I am! Fast forward to a consultation, a signed agreement, and BOOM! Project No. 101 was officially a thing.

But, hold on a sec—if you think it was all smooth sailing before we even got Project No. 101, think again. Let's backtrack to how it really started. What you didn’t see was the contractor who ghosted me after promising dollar signs. Or the client who hinted that her invoice wasn’t worth what I had to offer, ending our project before it really even began. Yeah, those were the not-so-glamorous moments. But here’s the thing—I’ve come to believe that every tear I shed led me to this project, which I genuinely feel was sent by God.

Faith

So, you’ll notice I talk a lot about my faith. Hannah Moser Interiors is a faith-based design business, after all. That might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I can’t help but give credit where it’s due. God has saved me from a life that could’ve been, let's just say, bad, and while I’m far from perfect, I’m not shy about sharing that part of me. This blog is a peek behind the curtain—because, trust me, the smiling face you see on social media doesn’t always tell the whole story.

During Project No. 101, while I was out here acting like a total pro, inside, I was an actual mess. I second-guessed myself, worrying that our client would bail like the last one—my mind was a battlefield of fears and anxieties. I was missing the faith I needed to remember that God had my back. This project landing in my lap is seriously something so indescribable. I had to remember that despite my doubts about my marketing skills (spoiler: they sucked at the time), I somehow wowed our clients just enough to make them interested. It was truly a gift from above. Lesson learned: I’m holding onto that faith a little tighter next time.

How It’s Going

Words can’t describe how Project No. 101 wrapped up. On install day, I was way calmer than I’d imagined. Walking into that space, knowing this was my shot to turn things around, I felt a strange peace wash over me. And guess what? We NAILED IT! The client was thrilled, and I couldn’t believe it—we’d pulled off something fantastic. To this day, one of the best experiences of my life, hands down.

Now, we’ve got the pictures, the videos, and the memories. But here’s the kicker—despite all the marketing efforts post-Project 101, it’s been crickets around here. My mother-in-law is in real estate and on the struggle bus with me. I've come to notice that if realtors around me aren't doing well, I can low-key expect to see the same in my industry. I'm serious; we were all on cloud nine, and then reality hit. It’s easy to forget the good times when things aren’t going your way, but I’m proud to say I’ve kept my head up and my determination strong.

So, to anyone out there with a dream—whether it’s interior design or something else—DON’T GIVE UP! Hard work and persistence do pay off, even if it doesn’t always feel that way. And hey, I’ll be praying for anyone out there who needs a little extra encouragement.

Next Up

Honestly? I’m not entirely sure what I’ll blog about next. This idea popped into my head while I was doing some admin work, and before I knew it, I was typing away. But I promise I’ll be back with more. If you’re interested in following my journey, why not subscribe? I’d love to build a community of people who are on this crazy road with me—learning, growing, and maybe even helping each other out.
