Eternity Series: My Chains Are Gone - Discover the Power of the Cross

The Eternity Series | Hannah Moser Interiors

Hi Fam and Happy Happy Easter!

I know Easter is this Sunday but I won’t be catching you until next month, so I had to come out and say it! I hope you guys all know how important this week is and everything it has to do with. This month’s Eternity Series is all about the cross. Before we jump in, I just want to mention that I’ll be announcing something super exciting at the end of the blog post—so if that doesn’t give you another good reason to keep reading, I don’t know what will! Anyway, let’s get on with it!

How God Lined This Up

I wrote down notes on what I wanted to talk about a while ago, and for some strange reason, it ended up connecting to Easter. It wasn’t planned on my part, but it was a wonderful thing to happen! I mentioned that we are talking about the cross this month. Some of you know exactly what I mean by that—and others might not. "A cross? What is so significant about a cross?"

Let me explain…

Freedom from Chains

I have a little story to share. Remember our amazing Helper, the Holy Spirit, from last month? I mentioned how He’s been working in me—and today, I want to talk more about that. There was a moment recently when Bailey (my husband) and I were in an argument. I don’t remember what it was about because I didn’t write that part down—but I did write down the important part.

Like a true man of God, Bailey called me out on behavior that wasn’t reflecting the Lord. He gently brought to light how things from my past were still holding me back. Deep down, I kind of knew it, but I didn’t realize it was the root of so many of my struggles.

The Power of the Cross

This is where the cross comes into play… Jesus died on the cross all those years ago to pay the price for sins we could never carry on our own. (We’ve talked about this before, but if you’re new here or need a refresher, you can check out a past post where I explain who Jesus is and what He’s done for us.)

Because Jesus paid for our sins and forgives those who repent and believe in Him—nothing you’ve done in your past can define you anymore. You are NOT your mistakes or your history. When you've been saved by Jesus, you're made new. Period!

This is exactly what we’re celebrating at Easter—the resurrection power that broke every chain and gave us a path to freedom and eternal life. Easter isn’t just a holiday—it’s a reminder that the cross wasn’t the end. Jesus rose again, and because of that, we get to live differently, walk freely, and carry hope.

My Prayer That Day

After that conversation with Bailey, I asked God for help. I said, “Lord, help me see me the way You see me—new, clean, white as snow.” Because that’s the truth: when we walk with Jesus, we naturally start to repent more, grow more, and become more like Him—not because we’re trying to be perfect, but because we’re walking with the spirit. We are no longer serving sin—we’re serving a good, loving Father. So stop condemning yourself.

If God doesn’t condemn you, why should you? You are forgiven.

A Declaration Over You

And now, I declare this: In the name of Jesus, may anything—whether it’s hurt, shame, confusion, fear, or anything else standing in the way of freedom—be lifted off of anyone reading this. That includes your friends, your family, your neighbors. Be free in Jesus' name.

A Prayer to Accept Jesus

If you’ve never accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior—or if you want to come back to Him—pray this with me:

"Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God. I believe You died on the cross and rose again so I could be free. I ask You to come into my heart, forgive me, and make me new. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and teach me to follow You every day. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus’ name, amen."

If you just prayed that, I’m celebrating with you. Welcome home!

Also, brothers and sisters in Christ! As you head to church this Easter weekend, remember the true power of the cross. While you worship and sing, know those words have meaning and power—sing them with all your heart. Also, if God’s highlighting someone to invite, bring them with you to Easter service. Let’s make this a season of new beginnings and shared blessings! Easter is the perfect time for renewal—for letting go of old burdens and embracing the victory Jesus gave us through His resurrection.

Now for the Surprise…

This is the first official announcement of the Eternity hoodie!

Y’all... it’s perfect. Not just because of how it looks or feels, but because of what it represents. When you wear it, you never know who’s reading it. You never know what kind of seed might be planted in someone’s heart. It might be a stranger at the store. A friend. A passerby. And you never know—you might’ve just helped save someone’s eternity. More on the launch soon. But just know... it’s coming. And it’s meaningful.

Discussion Question

This week's question is a bit more personal, so feel free to keep your response private. I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on it quietly and truly think through your answer. It’s a small gift to yourself.

Today’s question is: Is there something from your past that’s still affecting how you move forward?
